Enter the original price and discount percentage to see the final price.

How it works

The discount amount is the original price times the discount percentage. The tool subtracts it from the original price to get the sale price, then adds any tax or VAT you enter on top of the discounted amount. So the order is always discount first, tax second, which matches how shops calculate the price you actually pay.

Worked example

A Rs 2,500 item at 20% off saves you Rs 500, giving a sale price of Rs 2,000. Adding 13% VAT on the discounted price brings the final total to Rs 2,260. Without the discount, the same 13% VAT on Rs 2,500 would have made it Rs 2,825.

Handy for

  • Checking a sale price before you reach the till.
  • Comparing two offers, such as 25% off versus a flat discount.
  • Adding VAT to work out the real out-the-door cost.
  • Confirming a shop applied the right discount to your bill.
