How leap years change the total
A leap year adds a 29th of February, so any range that crosses one gains a day. Between 1 January 2024 and 1 January 2025 there are 366 days, not 365, because 2024 is a leap year. The calculator accounts for this automatically — a good reason not to multiply "years × 365" by hand.
